Di Gesue' Pizza Stones

This unique pizza stone is individually hand crafted on the potter's wheel by Jim Esway of Clay in The Master's Hand. Clay in the Master's Hand (Jim Esway) has been making functional pottery for over 35 years. The Di Gesue' Stone is one of our newest products with some long-term personal history over several generations in our family. The name "Esway" is the surname given to Jim's great grandfather Gesue Di Gesue originally from Roccaraso, Province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy and transliterated from Di Gesue' when he came to America. The enclosed Di Gesue' stone is made from a lithium feldspar clay which is lead free, oven safe, and kiln fired to 2150° Fahrenheit. In addition to being oven safe, these stones can be used on the stove top as well. These stones are an excellent way to transfer direct heat from your oven to your favorite pizza, cookies, scones and also are an excellent tortilla warmer when used on the stove top.
